BAY MINETTE, Alabama — A Bay Minette man is facing multiple charges following a high-speed chase with local police on Sunday night.
According to a release issued Monday by the Bay Minette Police Department, Brian Wesley Rogers, 27, of Bay Minette, was arrested and charged with attempting to elude, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and a parole violation warrant.
Rogers was arrested after a Bay Minette police officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop at around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday on a silver Mitsubishi SUV traveling on U.S. 31 South for speeding and erratic driving.
The driver of the vehicle, identified by BMPD as Rogers, “accelerated to a high rate of speed in an attempt to elude officers,” according to the release.
Officers pursued the vehicle north onto Alabama 287 with speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour. As the fleeing vehicle reached the area of Peterson Lane and 287, the vehicle flipped numerous times off the shoulder of the roadway.
Rogers was taken into custody without further incident. Rogers sustained minor injuries and was treated and released from North Baldwin Infirmary.
He was then booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Facility, where he is being held without bond for the parole violation, according to the release.
Rogers has a long history of bookings at the Baldwin County Jail Facility, dating back to 2011 when he was just 19. Charges include domestic violence, extortion, misdemeanor and felony drug possession, false ID charges, contempt of court, failure to appear and multiple attempt to elude charges.
