Edwin Louis Manders 8/25/1935 - 10/13/2017

Ed passed away of complications due to a tragic fall. His daughter Becky was holding his hand during his final hours.

He was born in Point Clear, but spent his youth in Fairhope. He was a graduate of Fairhope High School where he made lifelong friends.

After high school, Ed joined the Army, soon thereafter, met his wife, Barbara Kennerson, his wife of 58 years. He later worked at Jim Boothe Contracting where he would one day retire.

Ed was an avid golfer, and was considered a pretty good player. He was even in the Hole-In-One Club. You could always spot Ed on the golf course; he was usually clad in Alabama attire, red shirt, white cap with a Crimson Tide emblem.

When Ed wasn't golfing, you could usually find him fishing off his boat, "the High Roller" or down town at the Fairhope beach with his buddy Bear in tow. He could cast his net in a near perfect circle, and whatever the catch of the day was, he would kindly share with friends or complete strangers; he had a huge heart.

Gone before him, were his loving parents, Randall and Eloise Underwood Manders.

Here to hold his memories are his wife, Barbara; daughters, Sandy Manders, Rebecca Manders Olsen, her husband, Robert Olsen; and grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Olsen. Always by his side, were his loving and loyal sisters, Dot Boothe and Juanita Sims, whom he loved dearly.

A special thanks and gratitude, we give to Gene and Kathy Cox and Jim and Kathy Kennerson.
