Elberta football coach resigns

ELBERTA — Elberta High football coach Greg Seibert resigned earlier this week. Sources said the Warriors’ first-ever coach was asked to resign or be fired and he agreed to resign. Seibert was hired in 2017 to build the program from the ground up for the new high school in Elberta – his hometown.

He had coached at Pensacola Catholic High for many years with many winning-record seasons. At Elberta, he led the Warriors – still technically a junior varsity team to a 3-4 season this year.

EHS lost the final game last week, 23-14 at St. Michael. EHS assistant athletic director Lanny Jones is expected to assume athletic department duties as well as the football program.
