From musicals to a summer market, there is fun for everyone in Baldwin County this weekend, June 24-26

It may have seemed like it already did, but summer officially started June 21.

After weeks of unseasonably high temperatures, Mother Nature had everyone under the impression we were already there. This weekend, there is a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that will keep everyone in the family happy. Take in a musical, learn about firearm safety and marksmanship in Orange Beach, or visit a summer market of local vendors. Whatever you do this weekend, make sure to stay hydrated and apply sunscreen.

"A Touch of Magic – Disney Musical Showcase"
What: The Orange Beach Expect Excellence music department will take the stage to celebrate the magic of Disney music. Enjoy performances by soloists, ensembles, musicians and dancers.
When: June 23-24 at 7 p.m. and June 25 at 2 p.m.

Where: Orange Beach Performing Arts Center – Main Stage, 23908 Canal Road, Orange Beach
Price: Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by visiting orangebeachal.gov.

Firearms 101 – Handguns
What: This introduction to handguns class focuses on firearm safety and marksmanship in a low-stress, family friendly environment. The class is put on by the Department of Conservation Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries and taught by certified firearm instructors. The four-hour course will cover safe handling and storage of firearms, the parts of semi-automatic pistols and revolvers, marksmanship and live fire on paper and steel targets. Participants must be 16 years or older and have either an Alabama hunting or fishing license or purchase a Heritage license for $12. For more information or to register, visit outdooralabama.com.
