Gear Jammers host annual car show

SILVERHILL, Alabama — The Gear Jammers Car Club hosted its annual Silverhill Car Show on Saturday, May 25.

A total of 141 cars and their owners braved the sweltering heat, set up at town hall, Gazebo Park and in front of United Bank (historic Peoples Supply), corner of Alabama 104 and County Road 55, downtown.

A total of 75 awards were handed out including two Best of Show awards, Peoples Choice, GM, Ford, Mopar, Independent, Import, Truck, Antique, Under Construction, Paint, Engine, Interior, British, three Best of Decades awards for each decade, Mustang, Challenger, Camaro, Corvette, two awards for Rat Rod, Longest Distance Traveled, Club Participation, Youngest Participant and Top 20.

Dash plaques were awarded to the first 100 entries. Door prizes and goody bags were available for participants.

Food and drinks were available on site, including early morning coffee and donuts. There was also be a 50/50 Jack Pot Drawing.

Proceeds from the event will be used to add names to the Silverhill War Memorial.
