DAPHNE – The 31st-annual Jubilee Festival of Arts will start Saturday with an expanded offering of food and artwork, organizers said.

The 2019 festival, organized by the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce, will be Sept. 28 and 29 in downtown Daphne.

“It should be great. We’re really looking forward to it, Casey Zito Williams, chamber president, said. “This year, we’re expanding our food offerings with chef demonstrations and a lot of things.”

The 2019 event will also include a farmer’s market, honey’s flowers and fruits vegetables as well as cooking demonstrations using local farm-to-table items, she said.

The event attracts thousands of people each year to historic downtown Daphne and has become a major draw for the region, she said. Williams said organizers hope to increase interest in the area and bring in visitors from surrounding areas to see the attractions of the Eastern Shore.

The festival has expanded to include performing arts and world-food championship qualifiers, according to organizers. A juried high school art show featuring students from public and private schools on the Eastern Shore was also added.
