LOXLEY, Alabama — Loxley Police are looking for three suspects they say carjacked a Domino’s delivery driver in the late-night hours of Aug. 7.

Lt. Doug Phillips with the Loxley Police Department said the incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7 on Appomattox Drive in the Plantation Hills subdivision, located just east of Alabama 181 near Daphne, but within the Loxley Police jurisdiction.

The delivery driver from a Domino’s Pizza in Daphne told investigators that she noticed a vehicle following her as she entered the subdivision, Phillips said.

After delivering the pizza, she was returning to her vehicle when she was approached by what she described as three armed black men.

“She said they pointed guns at her and asked her to get in (their) vehicle,” Phillips said. “Then when she refused, two of the men got in her vehicle and they drove away.”

Her vehicle was recovered about an hour later in the Mobile/Prichard area of Mobile County, Phillips said. The victim reported that there was a small-caliber handgun in the vehicle that was not recovered.

There is no description available for the suspect vehicle.

“We have investigators working on leads in Mobile County and we are pursuing every avenue,” Phillips said. “We would certainly appreciate that if anyone has any information to please call us.”

Phillips said they believe this is an isolated incident.

“This is not consistent with what goes on in this area,” he said, “and there has not been a rash of incidents like this reported there lately.”
