ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — If you like antiques, or an eclectic mix of gift items, The Shops at Four Corners might be the place to go for all your holiday shopping this season.

Owners Beth Lazzari, Phyllis Hall and Patricia Pierotti offer a wide variety of unique gifts, everything from rustic frames and furniture, painted furniture and accessories, antique and vintage jewelry, collectibles and gifts, to novelty items.

“If you can’t find it here, we’ll find it for you,” said Lazzari, who has been traveling the world searching for antiques for 35 years. “I’ve had three different ‘day jobs’ but always come back to this.”

For the last 20 years, Pierotti, who is her cousin, has been traveling with her.

About eight years ago, Lazzari decided to open her own business, operating out of an old warehouse in Montrose. There she met Phyllis Hall and the two went into business together.

A few years ago, the business moved into the historic Trione’s Store on the corner of Alabama 181 (County Road 27) and County Road 64 in the Belforest community.

When it was announced that the old store would be torn down to make way for expanding the highway, the two partners found a new location at 23465 Alabama 59 in Robertsdale, owned by the Hamm family who runs Hamm Enterprises next door.

“We needed a third partner, so I called Patricia,” Lazzari said. “All three of us travel to purchase antiques, so having three people means that there’s always someone here manning the store while the other two are out making purchases.”

The new location features six rooms, working with nine dealers, along with other vendors that offer items ranging from a variety of candles, jewelry and other hand-made items. The shop also has a vendor who offers custom monogramming.

The business is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and, just for the holidays, 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
