ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — With their senior seasons still on the horizon, eight members of the Robertsdale Golden Bear softball team signed full athletic scholarships during a special ceremony held Wednesday, Nov. 8 at the PZK Civic Center in Robertsdale.
“Today is another great day to be a Golden Bear,” said RHS Lady Bear Head Coach Barry Roberts. “Today we celebrate the academic and athletic accomplishments of eight of our student-athletes.”
Among those signing scholarships Wednesday were Hannah Granger, Sabrina Williams and Jordyn Butts, Coastal Alabama East, Brewton; Kelly Adams, Brianna
Crabtree and Brooklyn Thomas, Bishop State; and Annaleigh Ash and Daizee Finley, Coastal Alabama North, Monroeville.
“All of these student-athletes have always been leaders in their community, churches, campus and team,” Roberts said.

First up to sign were Granger, Williams and Butts, who signed with Coach Misti Nims and the Lady Warhawks of CACC East of Brewton.
Granger is a three-time varsity letterman as a Lady Bear who has played since her freshman season, Roberts said. She also lettered in swim and volleyball and has numerous community activities.
‘I always say this because when this was said to me it was one of my proudest moments, ‘Coach Roberts, this is the hardest working athlete on our campus,’” Roberts said of Granger.
Williams is a five-time varsity letterman whom Roberts calls a true utility player.
“She has played centerfield, right field, left field, shortstop, second, third, catcher and can pitch if needed,” he said.
Butts is in National Honor Society, Key Club and volunteers at her church. She has four varsity letters and is a two time NFCA Academic All-American. She also made All-County.
Next, Adams, Crabtree and Thomas held the floor, signing with Coach Angelo Archible and the Lady Wildcats of Bishop State Community College in Mobile.
Adams is in NHS, was an NFCA Academic All-American. She also lettered in volleyball and is an athletic trainer for football.
Crabtree is in NHS, is a two-time NFCA Academic All-American, and has two varsity letters in softball. She also swam and was a trainer for football.
Thomas has four varsity letters; she was a member of the RHS swim team and is active in her church and is an athletic trainer for football.
Finally, Ash and Finley signed with Coach Monica Meadows and the Lady Eagles of CACC North in Monroeville.
Ash has five varsity letters, she was all county twice, All-Region, and NFCA All-South Region Honorable Mention.
She is in NHS, a two-time NFCA Academic All-American and she is active in the RHS FCA.
Finley is a four-time varsity letterman, was All-County and All-State Second Team. She is in NHS, was NFCA Academic All-American twice, she is also in Mu Alpha Theta and is very active in FCA as well as other church and
community activities.
Roberts expressed special thanks to RHS strength coach Wayne Davis, former JV coach Mitch Whatley, and summer coaches Billy and Amber Wallace and Shane
Hadley.
The Lady Bears will begin their quest for a 6A state title when they open the season on the road at Foley on Feb. 19 before hosting the Swing Into Spring Tournament Feb. 23-24 at the RHS Softball Complex.
