Support local artists during Foley pop up art show

FOLEY - Spring saw the cancellation of many good local arts and crafts shows due to COVID-19. If you missed having the opportunity to support your local artists, then look no further. The Foley Art Center is hosting a one-day only pop up art show on Saturday, June 13 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. (rain date Saturday, June 20). The event will take place in the parking lot next to the Foley pedestrian bridge, with vendors utilizing parking spaces to set up their creations. The Foley Art Center building will be open for inside sales as well.

Vendors will be practicing social distancing guidelines, allowing for approximately 25 vendors onsite. Tables will be set up with hand sanitizers for those in attendance.

All vendors will be members of the Foley Art Center, many who have been personally affected by the recent art show cancellations. To help their recovery efforts, there will be no booth rental fee charged to participate in this event. All sales will go through the Foley Art Center with the usual 25 percent commission fee.

Foley Art Center is working with Foley Main Street to promote the event, and many downtown businesses have now reopened to the public. Visitors to the arts & crafts show are encouraged to then take a stroll through downtown Foley to see what all the area has to offer.

The Foley Art Center has received approval and support from the City of Foley and first responders, and City Administrator Mike Thompson voiced his hope to see pop up events such as this one more often.

The Foley Art Center is located at 211 North McKenzie Street. Call 251-943-4381 for more information, and follow the event and Art Center on Facebook for updated information.
