Toros and Trojans advanced to South Regional finals to meet again for the fifth time this season

DOTHAN — Second-ranked Daphne (30-3) defeated Carver-Montgomery (18-9) 64-51 in the Class 6A South Regional semifinals on Friday. With the win, the Trojans advanced to the finals to face Spanish Fort’s No. 7-ranked Toros, who knocked out Sidney Lanier 60-56 in their semifinal matchup.
The South Regional championship is set for Tuesday at the Dothan Civic Center at 2:15 p.m.
The Trojans win over Carver-Montgomery was led by Deontaye Buskey with 13 points, Dee Graves with 12, Brian Mitchell with 11 and Teion Stanton with 10. The Wolverines were led by Arctravious Webster with 13 and Nathan Givhan with 10.
Spanish Fort’s Toros’ victory over Sidney Lanier was led by Michael Meador and Terrin Atkinson who scored with 13 points each for the Toros, Kris Draine with 12 and Trae Barry who added 10 points. The Poets’ scoring leaders were Roger Davis with 15 points and Antwan Burnett with 14.
