Christine Marriott Rutter, 80, passed away at 9:09 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2017 at Belmont Village Senior Living in Atlanta.

Christine was born Jan. 20, 1937, in Mobile, Alabama to Thomas Cary and Evelyn Stapler Marriott.

She was married to Charles "Chuck" W. Rutter on March 17, 1973 in Spanish Fort, Alabama. He survives.

Other survivors include one son, Charley Rutter of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Cary Marriott (Dot) of Birmingham, Alabama, Stapler Marriott (Jean) of Warner Robins, Georgia and Bubba Marriott (Bruna) of Mississauga, Canada; four grandchildren, Lindsey Rutter, Audrey Rutter, Trey Rutter, all of Atlanta, Georgia, and Bryan Gill of Hunstville, Alabama. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Christine was a teacher and administrator for the public schools in the state of Alabama for many years.

Christine loved to spend time with her family, and was active in her church. She attended the Christ Presbyterian Church in Daphne, Alabama.

Memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson's Foundation in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Georgian Club, located at 100 Galleria Parkway SE, Suite 1700, Atlanta, GA 30339.

Graveside services and burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Missouri.

The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
