DAPHNE—The “Hoops for Girls” 2016 Basketball Camp was held at Daphne United Methodist Church gym. Former Fairhope and Faulkner State standout player and Fairhope Middle coach Ali Calloway organized the first Hoops for Girls Camp lasts year and brought it back.

The campers worked on shooting, ball handling, passing, footwork, and rebounding skills as well as other activities.

Calloway played basketball, softball and soccer in high school and was the first two-sport athlete to play for the Faulkner State Sun Chief women’s basketball and softball teams. She was signed by University of West Alabama (then Livingston) but injured her knee before she could play. She is a member of the Fairhope High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
