Jo Wanda Glasscock Reyes, age 76, resident of Foley, passed away Monday, Feb. 20, 2017 in Dothan, Alabama.

Wanda was born in Steel, Missouri, but was raised in Prichard, Alabama. She attended Vigor High School and was a cheerleader.

Wanda graduated from high school and met the love of her life, Felipe Reyes Jr., whom soon became her husband. After the first few years of their lives together the Reyes decided to settle in Magnolia Springs, Alabama to raise their children.

While raising her children she set an incredible example for her children by her actions and involvement in many activities and organizations. She was a Sunday school teacher, a substitute teacher, Girl Scout leader and band parent, just to name a few things she volunteered her time for.

Wanda was also a member of the Summerdale Church of Christ, the Eastern Star and Civic League in Foley.

Upon retiring, the Reyes family moved to Summerdale where they lived for many years. After the passing of her husband, Ms. Reyes moved to Foley where she enjoyed the most recent years of her life.

Wanda Reyes was a committed Christian and loved sharing the Lord's word with others.

Ms. Reyes was preceded in death by her parents, Arnie and Selma Crowe Glasscock; her husband of 42 years, Felipe Reyes Jr.; a sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Charles Gunter.

She is survived by daughter, Denise (Mark) Mashburn of Dothan, Alabama; son, Felipe (Trey) Reyes of Robertsdale, Alabama; grandsons, Chris (Cinnamon) Reyes of Silverhill, Alabama, Todd (Kathryn) Reyes of Daphne, Alabama; granddaughter, Chelsie (Stuart) Kolkman of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Colton and Caitlyn Reyes of Silverhill, Alabama and Oliver Reyes of Daphne, Alabama; brother, Ray (Sheila) Glasscock of Byron, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Ruby R. Flowers of Pensacola, Florida, Barbara R. Reyes of Mobile, Alabama, Stella R. Lee of Hamilton, Montana; and numerous extended family members and a large circle of devoted friends.

Funeral services for Ms. Wanda Reyes will be Friday, Feb. 24, 2017 at the Summerdale Church of Christ, starting at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the funeral service.

Burial will be in Pine Rest Memorial Park in Foley.

In lieu of flowers, the Reyes family has requested that donations be made in memory to the Summerdale Church of Christ Wanda Reyes Missionary Fund.

The Reyes family would like to extend a special thanks to the Neurological Critical Care Unit at Southeast Alabama Medical Center, Noland Hospice in Dothan, Alabama and three special physicians, Dr. Sher Ghori, Dr. Robert Egert and Dr. Robert Latimer.
