FOLEY, Ala. — Carli Hodges has been contributing for the East Mississippi Community College women's rodeo team. The Foley High School graduate is competing in barrel racing. The freshman tied for fifth in her specialty during the fourth fall event after tying for seventh in her debut.

She earned 50 of the team's 80 points at the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association Ozark Region fall finale. Hodges ranks 11th in barrel racing points among the women, according to the NIRA online site.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

Baldwin County High graduate and former Faulkner State standout Latia Pullum started four of 13 games for William Carey University. She has averaged 5.7 points and 3.5 rebounds. The junior led players from both teams with 16 points during a loss to Brenau.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING

Wingate University freshman Ashlynn Weissgerber finished second in the 100-yard freestyle against Catawba. She is out of Spanish Fort High.

Colorado Mesa University junior Olivia Hudson, a Fairhope High alumna, was fourth in the 200 backstroke against Dixie State University.

Formerly at Fairhope, Ramsey Shane was seventh in the 200 freestyle for Birmingham-Southern College against Emory. She swam the anchor leg of the winning 400 freestyle relay team.

WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD

Southern Mississippi's Trista Barry finished second in the high jump at the Blazer Invitational. The junior out of Bayside Academy competed in the 60-meter hurdles preliminaries but did not advance to the final.

Daphne High graduate Kaleigh Akers of Mississippi College won the 3,000 at the Icebreaker Invitational.

MEN'S TRACK AND FIELD

University of Montevallo freshman Connor Ryan finished 10th in the 5,000 run at the Vulcan Invite. He competed for Foley.

University of Alabama in Huntsville redshirt junior Thomas Grace was 15th in the mile run at the Vulcan Invite. He is a past Fairhope Pirate.
