Loretta Naomi Mosley Shoemaker of Foley, Alabama died in her home on March 1, 2017 at 6:52 p.m. at the age of 88.

She was born March 6, 1928 in Foley to Thomas Henry and Mary Alice Mosley. Loretta married Donald Eugene "Gene" Shoemaker on June 4, 1975.

Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Shoemaker; her son, Thomas Watson; her parents, Tom and Mary Alice Mosley; brothers, Levi Mosley, Clifford Mosley and Isaiah Mosley; sisters, Gladys Watson, Emma Coley and Alice Mosley.

Loretta is survived by her four children, Sylvia Weeks of Magnolia Springs, Deborah Amos of Atmore, Kathy Lancaster (husband, Garey) of Robertsdale and Sandra Staimpel (husband, Richard) of Elberta; one sister, Yvonne Morgan of Arkansas; and leaves behind a lot of loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous extended family members.

Loretta was a longtime resident of Foley where she lived since leaving her childhood home in Stapleton. She worked at Ben Franklin and M&F Boutique, both located in Foley.

Loretta loved to cook, travel, play cards, board games, bingo and above all, Elvis. She loved being with family and friends. She was a Garden Club member for more than 20 years. Watching her cardinals and hummingbirds was a favorite pastime.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama, with Pastor Keith Ringers from St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Elberta officiating.

There will be a visitation with the Shoemaker family one hour prior to the funeral service at Pine Rest.

The burial will immediately follow the funeral service in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
