ATLANTA, Georgia — A student representing Robertsdale High School finished in the top five recently at the Future Business Leaders of America’s National Leadership Conference in Atlanta.

Jeremy Martin, a 2016 graduate of RHS, finished fourth overall in the Speadsheet Applications competition. He finished first in state competition at the Alabama Leadership Conference, held in Birmingham in April.

“I’m so proud of Jeremy’s accomplishments at nationals,” said Jeremy Stanford, FBLA advisor for Robertsdale High School. “He worked hard to get there and it was a joy to see that effort pay off for him.”

Martin, a resident of Seminole, attends the University of South Alabama, majoring in computer science.

More than 13,000 students from across the United States attended the National Conference, with over 120 competing in the Spreadsheet Applications category.

The event involves both a production test where students prepare a spreadsheet with specific instructions, and an actual multiple choice test that challenges students on terminology and practical applications of spreadsheet software, Stanford said.

“(Jeremy) is a fine representative of Robertsdale High School and the Baldwin County School System,” Stanford said. “Our students are doing great things!”
