Robertsdale High seeks nominees for Hall of Honor

Posted

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Robertsdale High School Hall of Honor has been organized as a means of recognizing, preserving and promoting the extraordinary contributions of its alumni and honoring the contributions other individuals have made for Robertsdale High School, its elementary feeder schools of Robertsdale, Silverhill, Loxley, Rosinton and Elsanor, and Central Baldwin Middle School.

The high school is currently accepting nominations for inclusion. The inaugural Hall of Honor ceremony will be held before Robertsdale High School’s football game on Sept. 2 with a reception and pre-game recognition. Ten people will be inducted in the first ceremony. In subsequent years, five to ten nominees may be inducted.

Joseph Roh, principal of Robertsdale High School, stated that members of the community wanted to recognize the people who grew up in Central Baldwin and have made extraordinary contributions to this community and society as a whole.

“This area has many people who graduated from here or lived here and gave back to their community,” he said. “It is time to celebrate that.”

Steven Grant, assistant principal at the high school, noted that for nomination, alumni must wait a period of 10 years from the time of his or her graduation from high school before they are eligible for consideration. No waiting period is required for staff or others who may be recognized for their exemplary contribution. This is not a continuation of the Athletic Hall of Fame. Current members of the Athletic Hall of Fame can be nominated for the Hall of Honor.

Nominations are being accepted all year. Nomination information should include the person’s name, year graduated (if applicable), address, phone number and email. Also, briefly describe why the nominee should be considered for the Hall of Honor. In addition, include the nominee’s professional career, achievements and/or community service to Central Baldwin schools, their community or society. Finally, note awards or other forms of recognition the nominee has received.

Nominations can be sent to Robertsdale High School, P.O. Box 69, Robertsdale, AL 36567, Re: Hall of Honor, dropped off at Robertsdale High School attention Steven Grant, or emailed to Steven Grant at sgrant@bcbe.org.
