BAY MINETTE, Ala. — The Alabama Community College Conference announced the postseason awards for the 2017 softball season. Savannah Rowell of Coastal Alabama Community College in Bay Minette was named Pitcher of the Year statewide.
The Pensacola, Florida native earned 21 wins, one save and three ACCC Pitcher of the Week awards in 30 starts during the season. She was first in the state with 181 strikeouts and eight shutouts. She went 175 innings and posted a 2.0 ERA.
Also on the All-Region, First Team are Rowell’s Sun Chief teammates Kerri Irvin and Allison Pickett. Making the ACCC All-Region Second Team are Hannah Brown of Fairhope and Maci Dean for CACC. Brown, Dean, Irvin, Pickett and Rowell were named to the All-South Division First Team. Ta'Lia Brown, who played at Baldwin County High also made the All-South Division First Team for Bishop State’s Wildcats.
CACC-Bay Minette teammate Emaleigh Dunn was named to the ACCC All-South Division Second Team.
