BAY MINETTE, Ala. -- The 2018 ACCC/Region 22 Softball Tournament is set to begin April 27 and continue through April 29 at Veterans Park in Alabaster. The Sun Chiefs are the No. 2 South Division seed. They open Friday at noon.

Tournament seeds are:

South

2. Coastal-South
3. Coastal-North
4. LB Wallace
5. Enterprise State
6. Chattahoochee Valley

 North

1. Wallace State
2. Central Alabama
3. Snead State
4. Calhoun

5. Marion Military
6. Southern Union

 Local athletes named ACCC Player of the Week

Maddie Seymour, a freshman DP at Coastal Alabama CC-South, has been named the ACCC Player of the Week for April 9-15. The Mobile native hit .625 for the Sun Chiefs last week with two home runs, four runs scored, eight RBI, and five walks. Maddie also collected two pitching wins in the circle.

Coastal South pitcher Savannah Rowell, a sophomore from Pensacola, Fla., also finished with a 3-0 record and a 0.00 ERA.  She gave up just three walks while striking out 19 batters for the Sun Chiefs. She was a ACCC Co-Player of the Week with Wallace-Dothan's Emily Sowell earlier in the month.

Sun Chief teammate sophomore Cassidy Huff of Saraland, catcher for Coastal Alabama CC-South, and Cameron Andrews of Satsuma, freshman right fielder for Coastal Alabama CC-North have been named ACCC Co-Players of the Week for April 16-22.
