The 81st annual Convention of the Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women of Mobile (ACCW) will be held Oct. 16 to Oct. 18 at the Island House Hotel in Orange Beach. This year’s theme is “Casting Nets of Mercy” to coincide with Pope Francis’ Year of Mercy that has been an invitation to love, kindness and unbounded generosity.

The banquet speaker is Hector Molina, an internationally renowned lay Catholic speaker and evangelist who has been engaged in professional full-time ministry and evangelization for more than 25 years. He is evangelist and CEO of Casting Nets, a nonprofit lay ministry that conducts dynamic and highly effective missions, retreats and evangelization trainings for parishes, schools, and dioceses aimed at leading souls to Christ and forming the laity for missionary discipleship.

Dubbed “The Motivangelist” for his dynamic and motivational style of preaching and teaching, Molina strives to faithfully communicate the gospel of Jesus Christ and the teachings of the Catholic faith with the joy, zeal and enthusiasm of the first disciples.

Rev. Msgr. Michael Farmer, archdiocesan vicar general will speak at the Monday lunch. Fr. Victor Ingalls, director of Priestly Vocation for the Archdiocese of Mobile, will speak at the Tuesday lunch.

The mission of the ACCW is to provide a medium of support to enable and educate all Catholic Women of the Archdiocese of Mobile in matters of spiritual development, leadership, and service to the church, families and society in the modern world, with gospel values, church teachings and tradition.
