It is with a heavy heart that the family of Alfred Gary Lewis Jr. announce his passing on September 13, 2020, at the age of 64. Born in Augusta, GA., he grew up an “Army Brat” living on many military bases, both here in the US and abroad. He graduated from Baldwin County High School, Bay Minette, AL. in 1974. Since then he has returned to Baldwin County as often as he could to visit family and enjoy all the fun and festivities of Mardi Gras. Gary served his country as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy, and was an avid Florida State Seminole fan. As a decedent of the Creek Indian Nation (Wind Clan), Gary was passionate about his heritage and in his Creek spirit referred to himself as Silver Eagle, he enjoyed learning and making Native American crafts such as walking sticks, dream catchers, etc. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Gary Lewis Sr. in 2009. He will forever be remembered by his mother, Gloria Loper Lewis; his sister, Gloria Lynn Duncan; his brother, Michael J. (Lee) Lewis: and many extended family members and friends. As for the 6 nieces & nephews and the 7 great-nieces & nephews… Uncle Googee will remain forever in their memories.

In a private service, he will join his father at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. Peeples Family Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Florida is serving the Lewis Family.
