Angela Hardeman Niegel Sawyer

Angela Hardeman Niegel Sawyer of Gulf Shores and a longtime resident of Atlanta was born on Nov. 19, 1928 in Florence, Alabama to Frank Hardeman and Billie Frances Page Niegel. She was raised in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from Murphy High School.

Her favorite activities were traveling the world, dancing, playing cards, fishing, was an avid golfer and enjoying her friendships. She had two "Holes in Ones," the first at Rivermont Country Club in Roswell, Georgia and the second at Craft Farms Country Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerald G. Sawyer; her son, J. Wayne Sawyer; daughter, Ramona Sawyer Williams; brother, Julius F. (Chic) Hardeman and Kay Montgomery.

She is survived by her son, Eric A. Sawyer (Beckham); daughter, A. Leah Sawyer; grandchildren, Andrew Sawyer, Matthew Sawyer and Kellie L. Williams.

A celebration of Angela's life will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley on Friday, Oct. 12, 2018 at 2 p.m.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
