BAY MINETTE, Ala.— For the second straight week, the home-standing Baldwin County High Tigers fell behind early only to storm back to take a resounding victory before a big crowd at Simmons Field/Underwood Stadium in Bay Minette.

This time BCHS allowed a first quarter field goal by Adam Callaghan and visiting Gulf Shores but then outscored the Dolphins 44-6 the rest of the way.

Baldwin County scored six touchdowns on the evening to go with a safety while holding GSHS to the early three pointer and a second quarter score.

Hooks hit French for a 13-yard touchdown midway through the second period and then after a safety on a high punt snap by Gulf Shores, the Tigers scored on a 29-yard run by Hooks. Dalton Coleman hit the PATs to make it 16-3.

Dolphin quarterback Jackson Newman narrowed the gap to 16-9 with a one-yard plunge with just 29 seconds left before intermission but the point after was blocked.

Nathan Barnes had a 24-yard scoring run in the third, Hooks went 90 yards for a touchdown, Hooks had an

eight-yard sprint for six more, and Tony Gray capped the night's scoring with a seven-yard run in the final period.

Coleman was perfect after each score and the Tiger kicker also sent six of seven kickoffs into the end zone.

The Dolphin early field goal followed a BCHS turnover on their first possession. The Tiger defense, led all night by Albany Casey, Bernard Porter, Trevor Davis, Jonathan Norris, and the rest, stiffened and forced the 24-yard three pointer.

It remained 3-0 until midway through the second stanza. Hooks hit French to cap a five play 61-yard drive. On the next Dolphin possession, a fourth down punt snap sailed into the end zone and the punter was forced to fall on it for a safety.

Two plays after the free kick, BCHS was again in the end zone with Hooks capping a three play, 47-yard drive on a 29-yard touchdown ramble with 3:17 left in the half.

But Newman directed an eight play, 65-yard march in the waning seconds of the half to keep the visitors close. The quarterback's one-yard touchdown made it 16-9 at halftime.

Barnes then scored from twenty four yards out to cap off the first Tiger possession of the second half.

Two more Hooks touchdowns and Gray's game finisher made it 44-9.

BCHS improved to 2-0 with the victory and travel to Blount next week while GSHS fell to 0-2 and meet Spanish Fort in Spanish Fort next week.
