Today, the Baldwin County Board of Education will hold a special meeting for the purpose of conducting interviews for the position of District 5 Board Member following the resignation of former member Angie Swiger.

The BCBE received applications from several residents of District 5 but has narrowed the applicants for interviews down to three: Fort Morgan resident Steve Martin, Orange Beach resident Norma Lynch and Elberta resident Charity Hudson.

At the meeting, the board will select and appoint one of the three applicants to fill Swiger's remaining term, which runs through Nov. 2020.

The meeting will take place at 5 p.m. at the Central Office Satellite in Loxley.
