OAKVILLE (MOULTON), Ala. - The Bayshore Christian boys team took second in the 1A/2A classification. Boaz Dernlan led the Bayshore Eagles in 10th place overall (18 minutes,10.87 seconds) followed by teammate Ezekial Dernlan (18:14.89), Caden Phillipi (18:21.98), Knox Williams (19:24.97), Jack Wheeler (19:28.49), Landon Miller (20:35.73) and, Maxwell Miller (22:44.91) for the state runner-up trophy.  In 1A/2A Girls the Eagles took seventh in the state. Allie McTaggart led Bayshore at No. 17 overall (22:44.02).

Running unattached as individual qualifiers, Libby Tierce and Xander McLaughlin led their Orange Beach Makos’ teams. Tierce finished with a top-10, No. 6 finish in 21;42.59 in the girls run and Mclaughlin was 17th overall (18:34.73) in the boys race.

In Class 4A, the Bayside Academy girls took third and the St. Michael Catholic boys took fourth place in their divisions. The Lady Admirals had four runners in the top-20 medalists. Eighth-grade Admirals Catherine Doyle and Annie Midyett dueled it out to the wire to make the top-10. Doyle crossed at 20:44.38 for ninth and Midyett was clocked at 20:45.76 (98/100’s of a second apart). Teammates Shelby Fargason (seventh grade) was 14th in 21:19.94, Marcella Covington (eighth grade), was 15th in 21:22.82 and junior Leah Jha was 38th (22:52.78) overall to help clinch the bronze for the Bayside girls.

The Cardinals’ girls were led to a top-10, eighth-place overall by senior Rebekah Schott’s 45th finish in 23:11.16. The Cardinals’ boys were led by junior Tripp Miller 16:55.54 for second-place in 4A and the fastest local finish at state.

In 5A, Elberta High’s boys took 11th in their first season in that division with senior Isaiah Nicely leading the Warriors with an 11th-place in 16:55.90.

In 6A Boys, Spanish Fort finished 10th in a field of 23 state qualifiers. Junior Joshua Clough led the Toros (28th overall, 17:19.85) in a field of 247 qualifiers. The Lady Toros were 14th led by Kate Miller (55th, 21:46.42).

In 7A Boys, Fairhope took 11th and Daphne 18th. The Pirates’ first finisher was junior Davis Amare, 27th. The Trojans were led by junior Andy Canegitta (89th) in a field of 175.

Freshman Shea Fagan finished 41st overall (21:11.25) to lead Fairhope’s girls to 15th. Daphne’s Lady Trojans took 17th with freshman Sophie West out front for DHS (91st, 22:23.90).

Foley High had individual qualifiers running unattached with freshman Mya Stewart turning in a 23:47.23, 5K time to lead the Lady Lions at state.
