Baldwin principals meet with applicants at Teacher Fair

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — Those looking to break into the educational field in Baldwin County got a rare opportunity when the Baldwin County School System held a Teacher Fair on Thursday, April 5 at the Baldwin County Coliseum in Robertsdale.

“This is a very competitive market,” said Jennifer Sinclair, director of human resources for the Baldwin County School System. “It’s a chance for applicants to get face to face time with principals at every level.”

Oftentimes, Sinclair said, positions come open and get filled without those who are qualified being able to go through the application process.

“We go to teacher fairs all the time at colleges throughout the area and whenever one comes up, we have principals ask to go with us, but we can’t do that because we can’t do that for everyone,” she said. “This is a way for us to bring the applicants to them.”

Doors opened at 9 a.m. and continued through 2 p.m. with hundreds of applicants meeting with principals from all 41 schools, along with the Baldwin County Virtual School, North Baldwin Center for Technology and South Baldwin Center for Technology.
