Jeb Ball seeks election to Commission District 1

James E. “Jeb” Ball, Program Director for Baldwin Substance Abuse Services, Inc. in Bay Minette, has announced his candidacy for Baldwin County Commissioner, District 1.

A lifelong resident of Bay Minette, Ball graduated from Troy University before joining the Baldwin County District Attorney’s Office as an Environmental Investigator and Criminal Trial Coordinator under District Attorney David Whetstone. From 1998-2007, Ball served as a Court Referral Officer with Baldwin Court Services.

In 2007, Ball started Baldwin Substance Abuse Services Inc. (BSAS), a company certified by the Administrative Office of Courts to provide court-ordered Level 1, Level 2 and educational classes involving drug or alcohol related crimes. BSAS also provides anger management and life skills classes if deemed necessary by the judge.

“As a lifelong resident of North Baldwin, I know how vital it is to have a county commissioner who understands our area and will fight to make sure our voices are heard,” Ball said. “I believe in protecting our way of life and think the best way I can give back to my community is to serve as your next District 1 County Commissioner.”

Ball said he heard the call to step forward and enter public service by running for county commission.

“It’s time for a new generation of leaders to step up and move this county forward,” Ball said. “Baldwin County continues to change and grow each and every day, and we need to be fully-equipped and ready to take advantage of the growth to bring new jobs to North Baldwin and economic prosperity to our citizens.”

Ball was also part of the launch team for the City Hope Church Bay Minette Campus, where he serves as Guest Services Director. He currently serves as President-elect of the Bay Minette Rotary Club.

He and his wife, Allison, have been married 20 years and have one daughter.
