BAY MINETTE, Alabama — The Bay Minette Public Library has been awarded a Library Services and Technology Act grant by the Alabama Public Library Service. The grant in the amount of $7,000 was submitted by Library Director Joanna Bailey. It was used to purchase library materials – fiction, non-fiction, large print and children’s books and audiobooks.

The Library Services and Technology Act is the only federal program exclusively for libraries. It is administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

“The library provides a rich assortment of entertaining and informing materials to its patrons via books, audiobooks and DVDs,” Bailey said. “We are grateful for grants like this and for the impact it will have on our ability to continue to offer our community a wide variety of entertaining and educational resources.”
