DAPHNE, Ala. – Bayside Academy will host a cancer benefit for Head Volleyball Coach Ann Schilling at 4 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, at the Bayside Highway 64 Athletic Complex, located at 8888 County Road 64 in Daphne, Alabama.

At the Ann’s Fans Strikeout Cancer Benefit, Bayside’s 2017 Alabama High School Athletic Association Volleyball State Championship team will receive their championship rings. After the ring presentation, Bayside’s varsity baseball and softball teams will compete against Clarke County; the varsity girls soccer team will play Alma Bryant. The teams will wear pink jerseys as a show of support for Coach Schilling and her fight against breast cancer.

Coach Schilling was inducted into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame on Monday, March 19. She was one of 11 inductees and was the only woman inducted into the 2018 class. Her impressive resume includes 23 state volleyball titles, four runners-up, an unprecedented 16 straight state championship titles from 2002–2017, more than 1400 wins and 18 Coach of the Year awards. She was inducted into the Bayside Academy Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Mobile Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

Bayside invites all students, faculty-staff, parents, alumni, friends and family to support Coach Schilling in her cancer fight and to celebrate her accomplishments by attending the benefit. Proceeds from concessions, the $5 admission fee, and Ann’s Fans hats and magnets will go toward Coach Schilling’s medical needs.

Bayside Academy is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory day school for students in grades PK–12.
