BAY MINETTE, Alabama -- The Bay Minette Beautification Committee honored the downtown area with its Seasonal Decoration awards.

The committee presented the award to the South Hand Avenue district for its impressive display of Christmas spirit. Many of the businesses and churches went all out to add holiday décor and it has been impressive.

The Committee also honored city crews and volunteers who helped decorate downtown Bay Minette. Numerous city departments were involved in the installation of decorations and the community also stepped up to volunteer in numerous capacities.

Josh Gordon built a sleigh for display on Courthouse Square and it was painted by DeeAnn Reed. A new Santa Mailbox is on display at Blackburn Park, thanks to local artist Alaina McDonald.

Other volunteers also pitched him to hang garland, tie bows and decorate downtown including Danielle Thomas, Charnita Kennedy, Elizabeth Donald, Laura Smith, Martha Ryan, Clair Dorough, Emma Franklin and many, many more.
