Benjamin K. Worcester, born Jan. 11, 1928 on Green Branch in Fairhope, passed on to join his beloved wife, Ruby L Worcester on April 22, 2018.

He is survived by his children, Mary Jane Lloyd (Steve), Elizabeth Davenport (Peter) and Charles T Worcester; grandchildren, Terri Smith (Michael), Kenneth Keith (Deanna), Kyle Davenport, Ben Worcester (Anne) and Daniel Lloyd; as well as great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

B.K. grew up on the family dairy farm and graduated from Fairhope High School. After serving as a medic in the Army in both World War II and the Korean War, he returned to Fairhope where he worked at Scott Paper Co. for 42 years until he retired. He also continued the family tradition of farming and raising cattle until his retirement.

He was famous for both his fiery temper and generous heart to everyone who knew him. After retirement, his shenanigans in the community earned him the nickname "Wizard of Green Branch." His stories of growing up in the Depression Era have entertained five generations of family and friends.

His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of his family as his knowledge and insight are irreplaceable.

With the help of Community Hospice, he was able to pass on in his childhood home and spent his last months with his family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Community Hospice in his name.

Services will be at Silverhill Cemetery on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at 10 a.m.
