BMES boys participate in Guys With Ties

Bay Minette Elementary School boys in the upper grades have the opportunity to be in the Guys With Ties organization led by assistant principal Matthew Craig and sixth grade teacher Anthony Roley. The boys learn how to dress for success which includes learning to tie a tie and tuck in their shirt tail. Learning the fine points of introductions, handshakes, and eye contact are other skills the young men learn during their twice monthly meetings. During a recent club meeting, they learned about conflict resolution. As part of the exercise, each team had five minutes to build the tallest marshmallow and pretzel tower. The boys learned that the secret to a successful project was a strong foundation and in life, relationships and conflict resolutions are also built on strong foundations.
