BON SECOUR, Alabama -- The Bon Secour Volunteer Fire/Rescue Department held its annual Christmas gathering Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the Tin Top Restaurant in Bon Secour. The Department would like to thank Tin Top for allowing its event to be held there and for their friendly and professional service.

Chief Paul Shoenight and Deputy Chief John “Bo” Davis presented the plaques for the quarterly firefighter and for the firefighter of the year.  Shoenight said that the members voted as to whom the winners were and it was a very close outcome.

“All the firefighters went above and beyond, this year especially during and after Hurricane Sally,“ Shoenight said. “The officers, firefighters and board members want to wish everyone a safe, healthy, Blessed and Merry Christmas.”

Awards were presented to Chance Marks, first quarter; Jeremy Byers, second quarter; Ray DeWoody, third quarter; and Kylle Byers, fourth quarter. DeWoody was presented with the Firefighter of the Year Award.
