Carol Jean Sutherland Chadwick, age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016.
She worked at the Birmingham News until retirement. She was a lifetime member of the Church of the Advent Episcopal Church and Lake Forest Garden Club of Birmingham.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Radney Chadwick; her parents; and her brother, Clyde Sutherland.
She is survived by her son, John Radney Chadwick Jr. (Betsy) of Fairhope; three grandchildren, Margaret Chadwick Gambino (Adam) of Fairhope, John Radney Chadwick III (Sarah) of Chickasaw and Elizabeth Shelby Chadwick of Silverhill; great-grandchildren, William Chadwick, Caroline Chadwick, Mason Chadwick and Finlay Paul Gambino.
Private graveside services will be held in Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham, Alabama.
