2019 Shark Run

7 a.m, Flora-Bama Lounge & Oyster Bar

4-mile race: participants run 2 miles on the road, followed by 2.5 miles of beach sand. Each participant wears a Flag football belt throughout the race. On the beach portion of the race, "Sharks" will try to steal the flags. Each participant is given the opportunity to recover the stolen flags. Participants must have flags intact when crossing the finish line in order to be eligible for awards. 1 Mile Adventure Run: Participants run an out and back course entirely on the beach. Each participant wears a Flag football belt and will be chased by "Sharks."

After the race there will be refreshments and Free Beer. Stick around for all the events happening along the coast this 4th of July!

Fireworks at Gulf State Park Pier

Noon - Pier will open to public and close again at 6 p.m. Display begins at 9 p.m. Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores Public Beach and surrounding areas as ideal locations for spectators.


Baldwin Pops Band Independence Day concert

7 p.m., Henry George Park in Fairhope. For the second year in a row, this concert will be shared with the 151st Army Band from Montgomery, under the leadership of Chief Warrant Officer David Vosler. Both bands will perform independently and combined. Conductor Dr. Jason Rinehart will lead the Baldwin Pops in selections including American Fanfare arranged by John Wasson, American Flourish by Robert W. Smith, The Banner Yet Waves by David Gorham, Broad Stripes and Bright Stars by Robert Longfield, The Good Old USA arranged by James Christensen, and Strike Up the Band by Ira and George Gershwin.

The combined bands will perform America the Beautiful, National Emblem, Stars and Stripes Forever, and more, and will accompany the fireworks display starting at 9 p.m.

Guests should bring chairs or blankets and are encouraged to bring a picnic supper. The Checkered Tablecloth Award will be presented to the person or group with the most interesting picnic setup. Due to an expected large crowd, there will be no children's parade.

There will be a short break following the concert, then the combined bands, directed by Dr. Rinehart and Wayne Fillinghim, will accompany the fireworks display starting at 9 p.m.

Daphne's Fourth of July Celebration

Al Trione Sports Complex, Fun begins at 5 p.m. with waterslides, inflatables, games and free concessions. Fireworks begin at dusk.

Independence Day Street Party

5 - 9 p.m., The Wharf, Orange Beach

Celebrating our great nation's birthday with the biggest street party on the Gulf Coast! We will have oodles of activities for the whole family to enjoy like our surf simulator, interactive arena and our famous bubble zone! Let's not forget the adorable, fluffy animals to pet! Our kid-friendly activities are sponsored by Christian Life The Island Church.

We will be handing out American flags to wave when the sun sets and our iconic palm trees will sparkle a patriotic theme of red, white, and blue! Set up shop on Main Street for the perfect fireworks viewing spot presented by Columbia Southern University. Stay for a little while longer to see the patriotic Spectra Sound and Light Show!
