Chamber hands out awards at Business After Hours

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce handed out several awards on Tuesday, Aug. 13 during a Business After Hours held at PenAir Federal Credit Union.

The Chamber hosts Business After Hours throughout the year at various locations throughout Central Baldwin as a networking opportunity for its members.

The Chamber presented Volunteer of the Month Awards for the last two months. Melissa Santa Cruz, Baldwin County manager for Longs Human Resources, was the Volunteer of the Month for June; while Danny Scott, gas superintendent for Riviera Utilities, earned the honor for July.

Two Junior Executives were recognized for their work within the Junior Executive Youth Leadership Program during the second quarter.

The Chamber’s Junior Executive Program includes four seniors and four juniors from area high schools.

The two Junior Executives, senior Anna Rose Racine and junior Lily Glassford, both students at RHS, were honored for “going above and beyond,” in their volunteer work, said Chamber President Gail Quezada.

Brooke Butler, Marketing and Operations Manager, was recognized for her work on recent projects for the Chamber.

Events Committee Volunteers were also recognized for their outstanding commitment to the Chamber throughout the year, including Kay Arnette and Mary deLaunay, who were present at the Aug. 13 Business After Hours. Two other Events Committee Volunteers, Delores Sturma and Mary Carolyn McDaniel, also received the award but were not present.

In addition to the awards, the Chamber also presented door prizes and a $50 prize, which also presented a networking opportunity for the Chamber.

Chamber members are currently selling tickets for its annual 15 Guns in 15 Days Raffle. Tickets are also available at the Chamber office, 23150 Alabama 59, Robertsdale.

Drawings will be held beginning Sept. 30. Your $50 ticket gets you 15 chances to win 15 guns with a total retail value of $8,075.

Only 350 tickets will be sold.

The Chamber will also host a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Thursday, Aug. 22 at the Central Baldwin Sunset Rotary Club, 22765 Alabama 59, Robertsdale.
