ROBERTSDALE, Alabama — The Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce will host a pair of upcoming events in the spirit of giving and supporting to the community this holiday season.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, the Chamber will host its annual “Shop Local Saturday” with specials offered at local businesses throughout the community.
“We love hosting the Shop Small Campaign,” said Gail Quezada, president/CEO of the Central Baldwin Chamber of Commerce. “Small businesses face so many challenges, and many have had more than their share this year, so I encourage everyone to make a difference where you live and shop small. It’s a wonderful way to give back to the businesses that support our community.”
On Tuesday, Dec. 8, the Chamber will host its Holiday Business After Hours and Toy Drive from 5 to 6:15 at First Baldwin Land Title, 23315 Pet Drive, Robertsdale.
As par to the event, those in attendance are asked to bring an unwrapped gift that will be donated to Kane’s Warrior Kids, which will be given to children at USA Children’s and Women’s Hospital for Christmas.
Café Acadiana will be catering the event which will also feature door prizes.
Toy donations may also be dropped off at the Chamber office, 23150 Alabama 59, Robertsdale.
While Small Business Saturday is a nationwide promotion generally held on the Saturday after thanksgiving, which this year fell on Nov. 28, in 2017 the Chamber decided to move their Shop Small event to coincide with the city of Robertsdale’s Christmas in the Park and Parade to allow residents to focus more on local merchants.
This year’s event is being sponsored by Cutting Edge Automotive Solutions and is being promoted through social media on the Central Baldwin Chamber’s Facebook page and website. Chamber members also began getting email alerts beginning in November to help promote the event.
Several local vendors will be holding specials for Saturday, Dec. 5 only including:
