Charles H. Rice, age 87, longtime resident of Summerdale, passed away Friday, Oct. 7, 2016 in Pensacola, Florida.
Mr. Rice was a 22-year U.S. Air Force veteran. He retired from Baldwin EMC with over 18 years of service.
Charles was a former director of the Baldwin Baptist Camp, member of Baldwin Baptist Builders, Baldwin Disaster Relief, American Red Cross and many other assisting organizations.
He is survived by his wife, Sammie Rice of Summerdale; three daughters, Charlotte R. (Mike Pettis) LeMaster of Summerdale, Bonita R. (Bill) Crist of Cadiz, Kentucky, Liz (Pat) Spears of West Palm Beach, Florida; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
A celebration of Charles' life will be held Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016 at 3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Foley, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to the Baldwin Baptist Association for the camp.
