Chloee Lynn signs tennis scholarship with CACC

ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — In what could be a first for Robertsdale High School, senior Chloee Lynn signed a scholarship Wednesday to play tennis for Coastal Alabama Community College South in Bay Minette.

The daughter of Tonya and Steve Lynn, she has been a member of the Lady Bears varsity tennis team since she was a seventh grader at Central Baldwin Middle.

“I don’t know if we’ve ever had a tennis player from Robertsdale to sign a scholarship,” said Lady Bears Coach Wayne Davis. “If not, then this would be a first.”

Davis said Lynn worked hard to be a leader and has served consistently as the Lady Bears No. 1 and No. 2 seeds over the last few years.

“She is one of those athletes who inspires me and inspires all of those around her,” said Coach Wayne Davis, who has served as the Lady Bears coach for the last five years. “She is someone that I have always counted on to be a leader, both on the court and in the classroom.”

Described as a standout in the classroom and on the court, Lynn will begin her college career at CACC in her quest to become a nurse practitioner.

“In what I’ve seen of her, she is a very solid player on the court,” said Dr. Ritchie Dulaney, who coaches both the Lady Sun Chiefs tennis and volleyball teams. “When we look at athletes we are always looking for the student athlete and she also fits well into that category.”
