Citizens participate in Watershed Management Plan public input meeting

Posted

Mobile Bay National Estuary Program and Geosyntec held a public input meeting Feb. 6 at the Gulf State Park Learning Campus. The meeting was well attended by residents and city officials from Orange Beach and Gulf Shores.

The meeting was set up as more of a brain storming session. Attendees sat together in groups with a facilitator to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the Gulf Frontal Watershed.

A Watershed Management Plan is in the planning phase for the watersheds of Little Lagoon and Perdido Pass. These waterways comprise the Gulf Frontal Watershed and includes the cities of Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

The information gathered will be reviewed by Geosyntec to come up with more focused idea of what issues are most important to the people that live, work and play on Little Lagoon and Perdido Pass.
