Clarence A. "Pete" Nelson, age 89, a lifelong resident of Fairhope, Alabama, passed away Sunday, Sept. 29, 2019.
Pete was the owner of Nelson's Grocery in Point Clear and shrimp boats. He was also a farmer.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Judson Daniel and Bryan Aubrey Nelson; wife, Carol A. Nelson; and grandson, Timothy Aaron Nelson.
Pete is survived by his sons, Darryl (Sherry) Nelson and Tim (Charlene) Nelson, all of Fairhope; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica and B.J.; great-grandchildren, Christian, Zachary, Cadence and Camden; sisters, Mary Kelly (Lamar) of Fairhope and Mildred Nelson of Loxley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Barnwell Baptist Church.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Brook-Cedron Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
