County commissioner Skip Gruber running for reelection in District 4

Baldwin County Commission Charles "Skip" Gruber has announced his bid in the Republican primary for another term serving District 4.

Gruber was first elected in 2006 and served as chairman of various committees during his terms as county commissioner.

Gruber has listed work on the county animal shelter well as the expansion of the Beach Express, replaced major drainage structures through the county. He also worked with the Baldwin County Board of Education to help improve education in the county.

Gruber said in 30 years with the county’s Highway Department, he gained a great knowledge and understanding of Baldwin. He served as supervisor and project coordinator in the department and worked inspecting subdivisions and utility construction.

Gruber served 25 years in the U.S. Army Reserve/National Guard. He has completed mandatory and advanced training for county commissioners.

Gruber graduated from Foley High, served as Elberta mayor and councilman and planning commission member.

He serves as a member of the Transportation committee for the National Association of County Commissions and is a member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church. He also is a member of the Perdido Bay Optimist Club, Knights of Columbus, and a member of the Alabama /Florida transportation committee and the Board of Trusties ACCA Works comp.

“I ask that you continue to vote and support me in this upcoming election,” Gruber said. “I will continue to work for the citizens of Baldwin County to make it the very best place to live work and play.”
