DAPHNE. Ala. – The Trojans staked a 13-0 lead through the first half over the visiting Bobcats at Jubilee Stadium Friday night. Daphne’s offense got on the board with a 40-yard touchdown pass from Trent Battle to Donte’ Lee and two field goals by Diego Guajardo.

But Theodore opened up their passing game with a pair of aerial touchdowns in the second half. But the score was still even at 13-13 after three quarters thanks to a point-after blocked kick by Daphne’s Christian Williams.

With 3:58 left in the fourth period, Guajardo hit a 40-yarder to put Daphne back in the lead. The Bobcats rallied, but could not get a final play off in time to beat the clock.

Next, Daphne takes a short ride to face Class 6A Region 1 and neighboring rival Spanish Fort. Theodore heads to Class 7A and longtime rival Baker.
