Daphne celebrates new digital scoreboard at football stadium

Posted

The Daphne community was excited to celebrate its newest acquisition to campus at last Friday night’s football game – a new digital scoreboard that has been made possible without a cent of taxpayer dollars being used.

“The first message we want to put on our new scoreboard is thank you, Daphne community and Trojan fans for always supporting Daphne High School,” said Dr. Meredith Foster, principal of Daphne High.

According to Daphne High officials, the new $85,000 digital scoreboard speaks to the power of fundraisers and a community that supports student success both on and off the playing field.

Foster said Daphne High School is proud of the support it continues to receive, not just with athletics but academics as well.

"We especially want to thank our former students who have achieved great success for their loyalty to their alma mater,” Foster said. “Our digital scoreboard is just one point of community pride. As an International Baccalaureate, Blue Ribbon School and a high school known for winning state athletic championships, our community rallies around our school to support our students and everything we do. Whether the support is big or small, it all counts and is very much appreciated. As our superintendent says, we are ‘community strong and Baldwin proud.”
