Deborah Flanders, age 66, of Foley, Alabama, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at University of Alabama Palliative Care Unit, Birmingham.

Deborah Jean Miller was born May 10, 1950 in Breckenridge, Minnesota to Milton and Mabel (Tischer) Miller.

She grew up and attended schools in Wahpeton and Hankinson, graduating from Hankinson in 1968.

After graduation, Debbie married John Wipperman. She then attended Normandale Community Adult Education.

Debbie was employed as an educational assistant in Bloomingdale, Minnesota, and was also employed as a microfilm technician with Anacomp Corp.

In 1987 she married Lou Flanders, residing in Bloomington, Minnesota until moving to Pelham, Alabama.

In 1989, she started to work with Cracker Barrel Old Country Stores. She was named Employee of the Year in 1995 and was promoted to merchandising assistant.

They retired to Foley, Alabama where they enjoyed many wonderful times at the Gulf.

Deborah is survived by her mother, Mabel (Gordon) Schmitz, Casselton, North Dakota; two sons, John (Missy) Wipperman of Alabaster, Alabama and Jason (Sheila) Wipperman of Chelsea, Alabama; five stepchildren; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Deloris Differding of Thornton, Colorado, Diane (Eugene) Johnson of Noonan, North Dakota and Dorine Green of Breckenridge, Minnesota; finance’, Jim McAdams of Foley, Alabama and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Milton Miller; husband, Lou Flanders; and two brothers-in-law, Peter Differdiing and David Green.
