Delores Marie Malec, age 84, of Foley, Alabama, passed away peacefully March 16, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Delores was born Feb. 24, 1934 to Nealie and Lavone Hanson in St. Paul, Minnesota.
She was married in Superior, Wisconsin on Feb. 4, 1967 to Steve Malec. She and Steve moved to Foley, AL in 1978. She loved the Lord and was a longtime member of New Life in Christ Church in Foley.
Delores thoroughly enjoyed having yard sales for the joy it brought her to have conversations with people who came by. She was an excellent cook, and her other hobbies also included baking and sewing, but her most favorite pastime was visiting her family.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Nealie and Lavone Hanson; her husband, Steve Malec; brother, Richard Hanson; sister, Pearl Hirsch; daughter, Lora Burger; grandson, Marty Farias; stepbrothers, Dewey and Merle Hanson; and stepsister, Delores Crownheart.
Delores is survived by her daughters, Darla Williams, Linda (Steve) Durst, Donna (Radley) Sorenson and Rae Ann (Kurt) Haynes; sons, Ronald (Glenda) Malec, Gerald (Dawn) Malec and Bryan (Marilee) Malec; stepsister, Eldora Brown; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as other family and friends.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018, from 1-2 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home.
The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m., with burial following in Pine Rest Memorial Park.
John 3:16: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Malec, Ronnie Malec, Kurt Haynes, Michael Haynes, Gerald Malec and Bryan Malec.
