Dolly Marie Deese, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home in Foley, Alabama on Jan. 4, 2020.
Marie was born in Samson, Alabama on Feb. 20, 1927 and was first a resident of Fairhope, Alabama and later a resident of Foley, Alabama where she lived for more than 60 years.
She was employed for many years by Fovil Manufacturing in Foley where she served as a supervisor. She enjoyed her work in a leadership role and made many lifelong friends along the way.
While her health permitted, she enjoyed going to church regularly. Marie was a woman of great faith and her devotion to that faith supported her throughout her life and ultimately gave her peace in her final days.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer; and her parents, John B. and Dester Dismukes; and eight siblings.
Her survivors include her sons, Kenneth Deese of Summerdale and Stanley Deese of Foley; grandchildren, Kendra Hayes (Shannon), Maggie Quimby (Toby), Angel Hayes, Danna King (Pat) Missy Ward (Michael), Kris Deese (Ashleigh), Jennifer Graben (Joey), Stephanie Deese and Trenton Deese; 20 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Marie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She will be missed greatly by her family.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 10, 2020 from 10-11 a.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home, Foley.
Funeral services will follow at 11 at the funeral home chapel.
Graveside service will immediately follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
