Dwayne Nicholson, 62, of Round Lake Beach, passed into eternity on Nov. 6, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.
Dwayne spent his career in banking, retiring from Libertyville Bank & Trust as an operations officer. He enjoyed his career, but considered his role as "Mr. Mom" his most important work.
A man ahead of his time, Dwayne relished the years he spent raising his two young daughters. In his free time, Dwayne was an avid gardener, extraordinary cook, determined cyclist, tireless fisherman and collector of all things. He had a great sense of humor and was often referred to as "Mr. Google" for his limitless knowledge.
He loved computers, rocks, chemistry and sweets, but above all he loved God. His favorite places on earth were the Rocky Mountains, Gulf Shores, Alabama and by the side of his devoted wife of 37 years, Janice (nee Gerber).
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Heidi and Emily; and son-in-law, Jonothan Holmberg. Dwayne is the beloved "Papa" of Lydia, Paisley and Elijah. He is the brother of many, including Chuck, Donnie, Delmar, Rena and the late Betty, but leaves behind a treasured identical twin, Dwight Nicholson of Gravette, Arkansas.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his parents Anna Marie and Ernest Nicholson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dwayne's name to the Churg-Strauss Syndrome Association via the Vasculitis Foundation at www.vasculitisfoundation.org/donate/.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until the noon service at The Chapel, 1200 American Way, Libertyville, IL 60048.
Interment will be private.
