Ernest "Pete" Karl Petersen, 91, of Elberta, Alabama, passed away on Aug. 27, 2017, in Foley, Alabama.

Pete was born to Karl and Anna (Fabricious) Petersen of Panora, Iowa on May 21, 1926. He graduated from Panora High School and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a torpedoman.

Pete married Judy Erickson on May 26, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa. He pursued a career with Massey Harris/Ferguson for 20 years before becoming co-owner/sales manager of Foley Tractor Company in 1969.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and his beloved, Judy.

Pete is survived by his sons, David Karl (Sue) Petersen, Chris (Pauline) Petersen; and daughter, Janis (Skip) McNeil. He leaves to cherish his memory five grandchildren, Jennifer, Karla, Krystle, Nathan and Mae; and also seven great-grandchildren.

Donations can be made to the Salvation Army Fund in lieu of flowers.

A graveside service was held on Aug. 29, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
